'Smokin FIL' and 'Queen Bee MIL' make a deadly combo...can a Marriage survive them?

My Father-in-law smokes in the house (!) and my mother-in-law justifies that it is 'his' house and he can do whatever he wants!! My Mother-in-law, the queen bee claiming the central position in the living room, tries to give company to my husband till 11:30 at night, leaving not much room for me and my husband. If me and my husband are in a room too long (aside from the sleeping hrs) they panic and start knocking :) ...MIL constantly keeps a check on the hrs and number of times me and my husband go out alone (!!!) We moved in with them some months back ....and we are looking forward to start a family...I donot know if my husband can gain enough courage to get a place of his own!! Helpful suggestions needed!!
