Why are there always so many more guys??

Every time I join a service with personals ads, there are always so many more men than women. It's at least 2 to 1. Why is this? Girls seem to get flooded with options and guys like me can barely get attention! Are there really fewer girls that have interest in dating? I'd really like to hear what other people think, especially girls.
