Do I have what it takes to master inline-skating?

I want to inline-skate after seeing some videos and theories on how it goes much faster than skateboarding in general. I've been skateboarding for months now..and I am more of a cruiser than a trickster. Now I want to convert my transport method to rollerblading. Considering that I mastered cruising on a skateboard on my first few tries..a little less than 20 minutes and an hour after that got tail-stop..carves..basic maneuvering down. But will I go through the same fate on mere inline-skates? Will I be able to adjust to them fast and develop my skills instantly into speed skating (involves double push)...lol this might sound insane. I know I can stand on inline-skates already..at present I am a rookie but I dont have a pair yet so i am going to the store buy them. Can I MASTER INLINE-SKATING IN A DAY? I got will-power, I will practice until I get scs on my knee..Im a man. >:)
