Does race really matter when it comes to naming your child?

Im having a debate with a girlfriend of mine who believes African American people have to name their children simple names like Emily, Taylor, & Justin so they will not be "labeled" by society whereas other races can name their children NaTasha, Tiffany, & Shania and its no big deal....Is that really true?
