Mathematical name for a solid?

My geometry teacher made us take notes today on polygons, and solids. He asked on the homework 'what is the mathematical name for a solid'? He took our notes to grade them and now I'm not sure what it is. I think it's something like polygenus, but I'm not completely sure.
